The curves below are simulated spectra for the outgoing LW (long-wave) IR for 2 different CO2 values.
The main difference is the increased sidelobe absorption. Outside of the absorption difference on the sides of the trough, there is no difference.
Taking an estimate of the increased width and running a spreadsheet integration, i could not find the same values of delta RF as do the IPCC and simulator results. In fact it appears to be 1/6 as large. This is an estimate but adds weight to the need fo review their simulators by an objective third party.
