All roads on climate change seem to travel through the IPCC or intergovernmental panel on climate change. It is important to understand the origins of this organization, its goals and processes to better understand how climate science became a political process and then a movement.
The history and organization are very relevant to how valid the IPCC is seen as a bastion of truth and science. Link One can imagine with all of the scientists involved and money being spent on R&D that there would be some value in the idea of the findings of the IPCC. But once one realizes that the publications are controlled by just a few and the messaging tightly controlled, it becomes not a strength but a weakness.
