What is a call to reason?

We are asking you to think for yourself, not believe in what we are telling you.    We have put a good deal of effort into the material in this site and the presentations we have given.    We have seen a great deal of material on climate that purports to know the science and give you the conclusion usually with a warning that one must believe what they are saying or be called bad names like deniers.

We on the other hand want to challenge you to make up own mind and think about this topic.   Does it make sense?  If not write a comment at the bottom of most pages and we will try to answer your questions, concerns the best we can.   We want to learn from your learning.    We do not know the final word on climate, and in fact no one does.

Why would or should you believe us?

This site is obviously not another blog site full of reactions and opinions.   It is a site ordered in topical form with good material accessible to the reader on broad topics.

But what gives us any credibility?  First of all we are highly engaged over the past few years in an attempt to understand the science and all of these topics.

Our background as retired semiconductor scientists and technologists actually gives a good basis to weigh the arguments for and against AGW.   It is unusual to find folks like us with a good understanding of the wide array of technical and scientific areas as found in climate:  quantum mechanics, optical physics and photo absorption, thermal distributions and physics, multi-variable complex non-linear systems, computer modeling of these systems, and multivariable driven systems, among others.

The other ingredient in this overall quest for truth is the strong desire on our part for truth above all else.   We follow it wherever it leads us.

Enjoy the site and the learning that is intended.

We should revisit occasionally what the proper role of government is.   As the constitution was a good sense of direction, we need a core set of principles to add in order to deal with the future.

So many want to engineer society, remove risk, assist certain groups, rather than let individuals thrive and raise communities.  Why?

Is Democracy where we all "get it good and hard" or is it the best means to a free society?

Should we roll with the special interests, or make the government achieve its proper role, what is that role, and how to do this?

When do deficits and governments become too large?

Government is becoming more elitist while trying to sell corrections to problems it created, what makes this possible?

Currently as a society, we are having a most difficult time discussing political issues.  What is driving this?   And why a rebirth in political culture would be a good thing.

Market Economy

Are "markets" dead as some would conjecture? Or is free enterprise what got us here?

Economic Theories

At the heart of economics there are several possible economic schools of thought, the essence of these schools of thought and how they relate to our lives.
