The IR simulators provide the opportunity to calculate the energy while looking up, which would be the so-called reflected IR. The values below indicate in this run online of MODTRAN that the energy reflected downward is at low altitude over 350W/m2. Since the outgoing RF is about 410 W/m2 this begs the question where does all of this energy come from.
This is the exact question raised in looking at the atmospheric physics in an earlier section.
In essence this violation of basic energy conservation seems to lead to the need for an audit. Also the absorption by the atmosphere below 5Km is low also violating the absorption physics.
