Volcanoes can put out a lot of material in the form of aerosols, which in turn can reflect solar energy. Therefore with large volcanis activity as shown below the effect on the climate can be seen all across the globe.
There are over 90 volcanoes under the antartica for instance as many are in the ocean and not seen by humans.
