GCM Models

Slide 9 in this series.

The hot spot that is supposed to be in the upper troposphere according to the models is not there in observed and measured reality.  This is a serious blow to the GCM models.

Dspite the observations the AGW crowd has worked hard to generate a hot spot, but to no avail.

Given all of the critiques and shortcomings of the models, the AGW groups and the IPCC have not wandered from their theory that the models are science (which no matter what field we are talking about they are not science).  With good scientific method and no political agenda, this would cause a pause on the policy making and a rethink of how the models work.

The IPCC and others may reduce their estimates for what the climate sensitivity might be, but their confidence in their overall conclusions continue to increase, despite the continuing growing holes in the AGW science.

NEXT:  It is also worth trying to estimate the error in the temperature as predicted by the models.  Dr Frank at Stanford has done that analysis given the systematic error in cloud formation that he sees.
