The posture animal or scene for AGW is either the polar bear under stress or a smoke stack. First the smoke stack case.
Most often the plumes of what appear to be smoke coming from a smoke stack, but in fact is it most likely water vapor in the form of steam.
But the real poster child is that of polar bears. One has likely seen the lone polar bear floating on a piece of ice assumed to have soon drowned. When in fact the polar bear survives nicely as thin ice in the summer is when they feel more profusely on seals. The real test is in the total population as it is measured in some areas. It is also worth mentioning that there are polar bear colonies that are not well studied. Much is to be learned, but what has been learned is that with reduced hunting the population is increasing to high levels despite the thining of the Artic ice.
