What is the perspective gained here on the claims of consensus? It does not exist. When do 97% of any group of scientists agree on anything that is complex.
Virtually all of the major scientific breakthroughs, came from people who departed from the “consensus”. Would Galileo have supported a belief in “consensus”? Newton? Einstein? For Einstein, another good quote: “If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.”
Is Michael Crichton correct in saying that consensus is not a part of science? Such words as deniers and consensus are used each day to present a dismissal and demonization of the skeptic. Science has needed skeptics and should not suggest consensus of such a complex question as the earth's climate.
NEXT: Climate History is as one scientist put it is a required reflection to know where we are after looking at where we have been.
The idea of consensus on AGW claims will be analyzed in this section. What is the real data and how has the media represented it?
