How we might Proceed

How does this actually get off of the ground?  The key is first to have a product of engagement that is compelling to a fair number of skeptics.   The importance of having the support and the drive of leading skeptics is a key.  Asking folks to engage to try out a concept that has not been tired before is going to compel some if the right person asks them.   Once the success of generating good online materials occurs more will come.  Also once the momentum is shown reaching out to various orgs to ask for assistance in publicizing the proposal and asking them to fill out a simple questionnaire would work well to attract and fit folks into teams.

Once this concept is moving forward how can the ideas and information be well marketed?   In other words gain impact.   All tools should be on the table:  videos, images and good story telling among others.

The basic concept has to be to use a variety of channels, some familiar like the WUWT to promote learning.  There can also be various networks used in a formal way (HTML emails for instance) to raise awareness about the material.    Regular news emails could be sent on updates to materials or even responses to current events, articles.   Gain access to more rational media outlets and reach out to individuals involved to promote the ideas for use in other materials. Write opeds on some topics.  If some ideas are examined in a comprehensive manner and can offer a look inside a much more complete picture than available in the media, then that will attract readers and reuse. Social networking is a real plus in gaining awareness in the skeptical community of the movement.

To the general public much of that needs additional layers of engagement.  Amassing presentations that many can give would be a real asset.

Need to make more presentations in communities.  There is a desire to engage with either presentations that weight both sides or a salon format to discuss the ideas.  Might need to advertise online in select outlets that can be measured as to how well they attract new folks. Seeking opportunities to present to good sized audiences, with the resulting video getting legs within a broad community. Seeing if the movement grows to the point where more fund raising can be achieved and more materials generated. Seek and promote debates. Attend conferences that offer good opportunities to promote the movement.
