NASA Diagrams Differ
The two diagrams below show a very different energy release mechanisms from the earth's surface. The top one was the original one and was removed and replaced with the bottom one. The second one is now more commonly used in literature and online, while the first one represents accurately the energy being released from earth. The first one also underscores the importance of clouds in the release processes.
