The total carbon cycle below shows the cycle of carbon in the atmosphere and the mechanisms that determine the CO2 in any one place. The total in the atmosphere is 750Gtons with the human emissions ACO2 being 5.5Gtons. This is a small precentage, and as we will see it remains about 1-3% given a number of different ways to compute the precentage of ACO2 t total atmospheric CO2.
We should also not forget that 95% of all CO2 on earth resides is in limestone.
